Prague Update

On March 11th, we have the honor of partnering with the University of Tennessee to take a group of 14 students to the city of Prague in the Czech Republic. Brooks and I are humbled by the opportunity to lead this group from UT to serve in this city that God continues to lay on our hearts.

During our time we will be serving in the following areas: refugee ministry, homeless ministry and aiding sex trafficking victims.

We depart on the 11th and arrive mid afternoon on the 12th. The following day we will be working with a local group of individuals that saw the need to serve the homeless when communism fell. For the past 20 years they have used their own money and purchase food for over 200+ individuals in the homeless community every Monday night.

Tuesday we will be working with my friend Petra. Most churches and organizations have avoided serving refugees entering the Czech due to tension. Petra has stepped into this gap. She has opened a shop where they can come and pick out clothes, be tutored in Czech, prepare meals and receive aid. We will also be joining with these refugees to prepare food for the homeless on Thursday evening.

Yes you read that correctly, the refugees that Petra is serving prepare food for the homeless every Thursday night.

Wednesday we will take the students to visit the WW2 concentration camp of Terezin. We must not forget the past, we must learn from it and honor the lives of those lost. This will be an all day trip.

As I mentioned, Thursday we will be working with the refugees to feed the homeless. We may also be helping out some of my friends who are church planters who are working with both the homeless population and sex trafficking victims.

On Friday we will be visiting the Magdalena Center. It is on the outskirts of Prague and helps victims of sex trafficking. It provides housing and care. They are flooded with request, yet receive so little aid. We will be taking them donations for the victims and families.

Saturday we will return home.

We need to raise $2500 for Brooks and I’s portion of the trip.

Would you prayerfully consider giving a one time gift towards helping us meet this need? All gifts are tax deductible and can be made online using the following link: https://collegiateabbey.com/support/one-time-support/

Thank you so much for your prayers and encouragement! May God bless!
