Day 7 – Daily Needs
“But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.”
Hebrews 3:13
We have a tendency to forget.
Throughout the New Testament, we are encouraged to “remember” and, in the verse above, to “encourage one another daily”.
Life is hard, and so often we stay quiet. We get busy, keep our heads down, and forget.
God calls us not only to remember for ourselves but also to help others remember. I am pretty sure that Satan will never prompt you to encourage someone in a way that allows them to grow in their love for God, so if you feel that nudge, it is safe to call that the Holy Spirit.
Our world is inundated with hard news and tempting lies. We live in a world that tells us our value comes from our performance and that we aren’t good enough.
We need to be reminded.
We need to remind.
Inward: Jesus, what do you want me to know? Are there any areas that I have been tempted to believe lies? What are some of the best ways that help me remember?
Outward: Jesus, what do you want me to do? Who is someone that I can encourage today? How can I make encouraging people a priority?
