Prayer of Peace for Students: Week 2

February 3, 2025

Theme: Comfort

Focus: May our faculty and staff remember that the most important student at any given moment is always the student in front of them – and may they go with them in their struggles.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ.

Request:

Father God,

Thank you for the countless lives that are a part of the University of Tennessee community, but let us remember our students are central to everything we do.  Let faculty and staff have a heart for students well beyond the time they spend in front of them sitting in classrooms and offices.  May faculty and staff create space to engage with students, learn their stories as well as their names.  May they have eyes to see and ears to hear the challenges students encounter.  May all have a heart to encourage them through trials they face.  Your abundant comfort abounds through our Savior, Jesus Christ.  May faculty and staff overflow with compassion and encouragement for all You place in their path.  May all look to You for opportunities to be a Light in the lives of those who desperately need the peace and the comfort that only You might provide.

In Jesus Name,

Amen
