Prague Missions Trip

May 21 - June 1

About the trip

Collegiate Abbey has been leading student trips with the University of Tennessee since 2016. This year we are excited to partner with Redeemer Presbyterian in Knoxville, Tennessee and RUF UTK to serve alongside Dignity Restoring Hope in Prague. This trip will consist of two parts.  The first part of the trip we will host a retreat for pastors and their families in the growing Ukrainian churches. During the second part, we will help to construct and install a community garden at the new refugee center. This garden will also include a trauma-themed prayer walk to help encounter Christ's love in the midst of hard times.

The trip will be led by the Collegiate Abbey Staff - Britton & Brooks Sharp and Steve Moldrup.

The Shepherds' Retreat

On May 23rd - 24th,  We will be hosting a Shepherds' Retreat for the pastors of the Ukrainian churches and their families. Our team will partner to help encourage these pastors as they shepherd the growing number of refugees in their community.

Our hope is to be able to have every attendee and their family sponsored so that they have no cost for their time at the retreat.  Funds given to sponsor an attendee will cover: housing, travel, food, activities, and printing.

The cost to sponsor an attendee is being determined but you will be able to sponsor via the button below.

The Garden at The Well

God created us in a garden, it is a place where the veil between heaven and earth can be thin. A place rich with symbolism, beauty, and reminders of hope. The Garden at The Well is designed to help provide a beautiful, peaceful place for those in the refugee community to stop and take a deep breath. A place to help inspire hope and foster a sense of home.

In the video you can see where we will be starting from. We will be doing a lot of raised bed planting and planting in pots. We will also be building a lot of moveable furniture to help the space be multifunctional. We would like to also include a small kids area in the space. For the lower portion of the garden, we would like to add some new flooring and a sunshade screen that would actually help keep leaves out of the space. We hope to also install a small fountain and make this bottom portion feel more like a grotto. Built into the entire space will be a prayer walk designed to help those enduring trauma to encounter Jesus.
