A New Year | A New Chapter
“So, what are you feeling about this?” my wife said as we looked at this unexpected possibility. “Honestly, it is so intentional, I need to hear a ‘no’ if we are not supposed to do it” was my response.
On January 2nd - 9th, our family will have the opportunity to help give leadership on a mission trip in Prague, Czech Republic. On this trip, we will help Dignity Restoring Hope (a ministry to the large refugee community from the Middle East, Asia, Africa, and Ukraine) in the design and organization of their new Refugee Center. We will help to think through the space, paint, design, and create artwork for the inside. We will also begin the process of developing a multifunctional communal garden space outside. We are partnering with a group from Cedar Springs who will overlap our time along with the possibility of others joining us.
If you know our family, then you know this is our wheelhouse combining hospitality, design, budget, and gardening. You also would know how strategic this trip is in the starting of a new chapter after finishing an almost three-year journey of cancer treatment and prevention. This opportunity symbolically helps flip the page to a new chapter. When the leaders of Dignity asked if our whole family could join, a spark ignited illuminating the intentionality of God bringing pieces together.
For this trip, our goal is to raise approximately $10,000. This will cover flights, and housing, and give us a budget for the projects we will be working on. We would invite you to prayerfully consider giving towards the cost of this trip and praying for us during this time. A tax-deductible donation can be made using the button below and selecting the one-time donation option.
Thank you so much to all of you who have walked through the past few years with us and for prayerfully considering helping to start this new chapter.
